Adult Children Empowerment Group with A Good Place Therapy

Dysfunctional family dynamics can wreak havoc on the lives of the Adult Children who have spent their lifetimes navigating it. These dynamics may create heightened self-criticism, strong needs for control, problems recognizing and expressing feelings, difficulty in intimate relationships, and more in the lives of the Adult Children who’ve navigated them. However, being the Adult Child of a dysfunctional family may also catalyze key, unique strengths, including increased capacities for empathy, heightened emotional intelligence, maturity and competency, and immense resilience.

This group is intended to provide support, coping skills, psychoeducation, share experiences and build hope for adults 18+, who experienced parental substance abuse, parental mental health struggles, and other forms of family dysfunction and abuse during their childhood, adolescence, and into their current adulthood.

*We offer special rates for students and have two open slots through our partnership with Brown Sisters Speak, which offers free therapy for Women of Color.

This group is now full. For more information on future groups, please email dwaknin@agoodplacetherapy.com
