This is a workshop designed for anyone who breathes! In this workshop, you’ll discover how to use breath as a powerful tool to reduce anxiety and restore a sense of calm. When we experience anxiety, our body goes into a “fight or flight” stress response; our breath often becomes shallow and quick, signaling to the brain that we’re in distress.
By learning how to consciously slow down and deepen the breath, we can get out of fight or flight mode and activate the body’s natural calming response helping us manage stress in the moment. In this session, we’ll explore techniques like diaphragmatic breathing, and patterns of breath to create balance and ease in the body.
Through guided practice and experiential exercises, participants will learn to use breath as an accessible tool to shift mental and physical states and experience how mindful breathing can become a reliable source of calm.
