A note from Hagar:
Taking part in my clients' healing journey is an honor and my dream job. I love bearing witness to people's transformation and mental growth. Building trust and therapeutic alliance is my key and essential part of a successful therapy where patients can feel safe sharing their deepest feelings, thoughts, fears and experiences. I am grateful for the meaningful role I play in my clients' lives and the ability to contribute to their happiness and fulfillment.
I grew up in Israel and relocated to New York City 15 years ago. Immigrating was a long and challenging process. I have learned the importance of self-care, and psychotherapy has become my passion. I studied psychology and social work to become a professional psychotherapist to support others in life transitions and mental health challenges. While working at multiple outpatient psychiatric departments in NYC hospitals, I have gained a lot of experience treating adults of all ages and ethnicities experiencing mental health issues and comorbid disorders. Some of these issues include; PTSD, personality disorders, mood disorders, addictions, eating disorders, and ADHD.
Clients often engage in therapy when in crisis; however, in many cases, it is a trigger of deeper and raw feelings that were never processed and require therapeutic exploration. In our sessions, we will identify your triggers, thought processes, and behavioral patterns. We will explore repressed feelings, reparent your inner child and heal from old patterns. We will learn new and healthy coping skills to deal with these triggers and practice them all together. There is no magic wand, and I cannot “fix” you, but if you are willing to do the work, I will be so happy to guide, support, validate, and reflect on your fascinating mental health journey and growth. I will be here to assist you with empowering yourself, discovering your resilience and rewiring your mind to become the best version of yourself.
I can provide a safe space and holding environment by my empathic, warm, relational and eclectic approach in which I combine psychodynamic work, dialectical behavioral therapy, somatic work, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed therapy modalities. I am passionate about inner child work, mind/body connection and post-traumatic growth. I tailor every case according to the client's condition, and together we will work to establish your goals.
