A note from Madison:
I believe that building the therapeutic relationship marks the beginning of the healing process. Together we will explore your life and gain a greater understanding of your experience in the world. I use a warm, empathic, patient, and non-judgmental style. I’m a queer woman and I was born and raised by a South American immigrant mother and a white father, which influences my belief in an intersectional approach to psychotherapy. Together we will uncover the many parts of yourself that impact your identity. Creating a space that feels comforting, safe, exploratory, and authentic is important to me as a therapist.
My approach is psychodynamic, relational, and strengths-based. We will explore the various patterns that exist in your life and understand the origin of your behaviors. As partners we will discover where you draw your strength and we will also work to understand what triggers undesirable feelings in your life. In our collaborative work we will also create new coping skills while gaining insight into you. Together we will practice acceptance while also questioning the areas of your life that no longer serve you. Uncovering your authenticity, implementing change, and practicing acceptance is powerful- I am committed to holding that space with you.
I welcome clients from all walks of life and from all backgrounds. Your individualized story is important to me.
